Woman paying for groceriesIf you’re a regular reader of Gio’s Moneysaving Tips, you’ll have received plenty of sound advice for the supermarket.

Well, get ready  for another dose of it, as this week I’m going to impart a tip on saving a few pennies that could go a long way.

As you may have noticed, supermarkets offer a lot of their own stuff. And by opting for this, you could make big savings on your weekly shop; particularly on items like cereal which are difficult to distinguish from their ‘name brand’ counterparts.

There are usually several different ‘grades’ of product, too. So see if you can manage on the cheapest, and pocket the difference!

While you’re at the supermarket, cast your gaze to the upper and lower shelves. Retailers put more expensive items at eye level so we spot them first, but the cheaper deals are often to be found in harder-to-reach places.

Happy shopping!
